Stitched Paper Ornaments DIY
DIY Stitched paper ornaments by Laura Murray
This Christmas season is well and truly here and it's all about decorations! So why not get the kid's involved with these simple stitched paper ornaments? They're quick and easy to put together and would make an adorable addition to any Christmas tree. Or why not use them as unique gift tags or present toppers?
What you will need:
*Colourful A4 cardstock
*Yarn
*A knitter's/darning needle (one with a big eye and a very blunt point)
*Craft knife
*Scissors
*Tape
*Printer
Step 1:
First, Download Simple Stitched Paper Ornament templates and print them out onto your colour card-stock and cut out the shapes.
Step 2:
Now it's time to think about the patterns you want to create and punch some holes with your needle. When punching holes, it's a good idea to lean on something soft to avoid creating folds in the card. A piece of foam, cork-board or even just leaning on carpeted floor all work well. Also, make sure the holes aren't too close to the edge!
Step 3:
Now thread up the needle with some yarn and work through the holes from front to back.
Step 4:
Once the pattern is finished, trim the excess yarn and secure it to the card with small pieces of tape. Then simply thread some yarn through the top and tie a knot to make a hanger. Now all that's left is to pop these lovely ornaments on the tree!
