Shop Stop: supermama in Singapore

If you are ever in Singapore be sure to drop by Supermama. Irene and friend Marjon Hoogervorst was on a mission earlier this year to produce a shopping gift guide of Singapore for Anthopology Magazine. Supermama was on the list, and according to Irene it was probably one of the nicest stores in Singapore.

Supermama is a retail gallery started by a husband and wife who shares the same passion for beautiful things. Open to everyone who appreciates unique finds, designs and carries a good mixture of products. You can take a look at what they have here on their website.

Singapore is only a couple hours away by flight from KL and I enjoy seeing the difference in lifestyle and also what you’ll be able to find only in Singapore. Supermama herself also writes a blog and shares her love for writing and daily inspirations.

Vacations are over and time for most of us to get back to work but isn't it nice to see where we all went too? Like Fenny from F to Fabulous who visited Budapest during the summer months. She has taken some beautiful pics for us and has written down her favorites spots in this beautiful Eastern European city.

You can read all about it right here in the Travel section from Bloesem.

If you would like to share a travel report with Bloesem too then please email me!

Bali with Udder

A couple of weeks ago my family and I went to Bali, one of the main islands of Indonesia. Going there was on my wish-list for a long time, so my expectations were pretty high ... perhaps never a good thing. We didn't go by ourselves nor did we plan the trip ourselves, instead we were invited by the company my husband works for to spend some time with all of his collegues and their families in one of those luxurious resorts. Yep lucky us!

But... and I don't want to complain ... there wasn't much time to travel on the island or dicsover some of those places that were recommended to me by my friends... instead we spend most of our time at the pool from the hotel.

We did see some things like the famous market in Ubud and the Tanah-lot temple ... but I thought both of them were way too touristic, super crowed, warm and not interesting at all. So if we ever go back I will avoid all the famous and well-known places on Bali. Instead I will look for a hotel outside the mainstream cities and use all the information on Udder's blog.

The only thing I bought was a cute black teapot and two little 'spa' bottles for oil and parfume. It was in a very tiny village were pottery and ceramics are the main source of income.

Kuala Lumpur City Guide for Thai airline magazine

Always nice to share one of the projects Marjon and I have done last time she was here visiting me... a Kuala Lumpur City Guide for Sawasdee, the Thai airlines inflight magazine.

It is actually nice making city guides, intens, hard work but fun! It all starts with preparations: where to go, what to share and often you need to have permission to shoot. Than you give yourself about two days to run around like crazy to capture as much and as beautiful as possible. And you can only hope circumstances like weather, opening hours or others are working for you.

Kuala Lumpur is an interesting city. There are many hidden gems troughout the city. I believe much more could be done to clean up the city and restore the beautiful old buildings, but there certainly are many amazing spots. NY style restaurants, Milan kind of shops and of course the fantatstic Asian food stalls, restauarants and culture ... but guidance is needed! And I hope with this guide we have done just that.

The images were made by Marjon Hoogervorst and the words were by me. We have so many more images from Kuala Lumpur left, if you are a publisher or editor and looking for a Kuala Lumpur Travel Guide than please send Marjon or me an email

You can find the complete travel guide in the online version of Sawasdee's May issue right here.

 Thank you Emphasis Media for letting Marjon and me do this!

Take a Holiday in Spain

{Take a Holiday in Spain: sleep in a Tipi or a stunning bed&breakfast}

{dankzij Marieke van Sorprentas vond ik deze bijzondere vakantie locaties}
