Hasami mug
It's the simplest of things that we find beauty in. Attention to detail in craft or design is usually what stands out for us even in the most basic of items. While we have had these lovely pieces from Shop Frank in the Bloesem space for awhile, it finally came the time to photograph their beauty and share them with the rest of you.
We love how every item is so well crafted and just fits right in with the rest of the items we have in the space. One thing I remember so vividly from my time at school was my lecturer always repeating " form has to follow function". He would repeat that over and over and though at the time it sounded unnecesary to keep harping on that, it truly makes sense. When you get rid of all the extra details and go back to the basics, you get the true essence and beauty. It all sounds like airy fairy talk, but trust us when we say the beauty is in the details.

More everyday items we love after the cut..
Shop Frank curates pieces from designers who they admire, both for their works and the way they work. The Bloesem Team too has found some treasures that we have grown very fond of from the collection (cough, Hasami teapot, cough).

Other items photographed above: Bulb beaker , Brown vintage apothecary jar, Tas-ka tea towel, Bookhou linen clutch (all available at Bloesem.co)

When we first got our hands on these Deckle and Hide candles, we fell in love with the amazing scent it filled the studio with. (Everyone who entered told us it smelt like a spa!) Originally it was just for our smelling pleasure but then we realised even people from the other stores in the street wanted to get their hands on the candles so we decided to start selling them in the Bloesem shop too! We wanted to share the wondrous smells with everyone and so far the candles have been a hit.
Besides their lovely candles, Deckle and Hide also carries a range of locally (in Australia) hand crafted leather goods. Many of their products are made-to-order. (Saw a beautiful back pack they made specially for a customer on their instagram!)
Very much inspired by the natural concept behind Deckle and Hide's products, we went back to nature with this shoot! And Zara did an amazing job styling and photographing the Deckle and Hide collection. I'm so blessed to have her in my team!
Their leather goods are made from full grain, vegetable tanned bovine hide and kangaroo leather laced detailing for strength and durability. Then they are conditioned with natural oil and finished with beeswax. The leather develops its own unique, aged patina through use as they are not dyed.
Other than their stress-relieving scent, they are made from 100% natural ingredients! Anne and Luke first realised that burning many candles you see in stores could be detrimental to health because of all the toxic chemical in them so they decided they come up with their own line of 100% botanical candles that they would be able to enjoy without causing any harm to the little ones in the family.

You might have seen these images over at Decor8 last week ... Holly was so super kind to introduce Nala design and my first official styling job to her readers.
Just before Christmas a photo shoot took place in my home here in Kuala Lumpur for Nala Design, a stationery and home decor line from Malaysia founded by my friend Lisette Scheers.
It was a fun day and I have to give a special thanks to Tian Xing and Sammie from Show Up Pictures, they are fantastic to work with and I would definetly hire them for any photography job.
Hope you don't mind me letting you be with just the images today ....and I do hope you visit Nala's webshop.
