Local and handmade products, you know are right up our alley.. Singapore-based jewellery label By Invite Only recently sent a box of their jewellery our way for a styled photo shoot and check out how they turned out! We kept it simple and minimal, to let these beautiful pieces take centre stage, much like how these trinkets and crystals will add some pizzazz to the wearer herself without overwhelming her or stealing the limelight! But definitely still fancy enough to take you from day to night. While some of these are handmade by artisans with a speciality in their area of craft, most of the jewellery are actually handcrafted by the owner of By Invite Only, Trixie! Since they don't mass produce, you'll find that most of their popular pieces get sold out quickly.. So if you like what you're seeing pop over to their page and shop away!

After being in the same place for awhile, you tend to feel like you've heard and seen everything worth seeing so when Melissa from Wallfloors got into contact with us recently, we honestly were excited to find out about this new online store! She curates everything you could possibly need in your home from wall to floors (see that's where the name comes from) and at the moment, mostly from Dutch and local Singaporean labels.
We had a field day looking through the site because it was totally up our alley.. the simplicity, functionality, materials and colours.. many pieces we could see in our home, so that's what we did - styled and shot our picks right at home. We literally placed the tables and accessories right into the different rooms and they fit right in, no redecorating needed! That's how seamlessly they blended in.
Two tone side table (white)
This white side table is perfect for that minimal style that everyone is going for. We placed it in the corner along the stairs, a great spot for some decor, flowers, or to place your keys when you get home. It's not too bulky and so so light, you can move it around at anytime.
Leather tray
We've long loved a good leather accessory and this leather tray looked like the new home for all the items that lived in our pockets during the work day. Keys, rings, earrings, watch everything went right in there so we wouldn't be running around like a headless chicken in the morning looking for our keys.. you know how it is.
Bowl with cover
This bowl.. if we had to use one word to describe it, it would be zen. Just the perfect size and the beautiful finish, with that wooden top, it's so multifunctional.
Oriented strand board side table (fluorescent orange)
Other than being generally a beautiful piece with an unexpected colour, the foldable table legs make this such a functional piece to move around and store when not in use.
Knitted pouf ottoman
Available in two different sizes, these poufs are great for relaxing in a corner with a book, or in the hallway to sit while putting on shoes.. you can lie on them or sit on them or place your feet on them, it's really up to you, but they are just a joy to have around. Just look at them.. how cute!

For Matter's latest monochrome series, the team over at Matter thought it would be a perfect fit to shoot Bloesem's picks from the collection in the black and white colonial home we now work in. So we played dress up and shot these in a few of our favourite spots in the new Bloesem studio. And what about that pink wall? It was just too adorable not to pose in front of. We're all for black and white but at the end of the day, we always like to pair our monochromes with some pastels and neutrals.
It's hard not to want to live in these pants (that make look familiar, we did a Matter feature last year!), they are light, they are comfy, they are chic.. you can lounge in them or dress them up with a pair of heels.. they fit women of all different sizes with their flexible closures! Matter pants are a perfect balance of traditional designs and modern cuts.. they remind us of road trips with the girls! Packing a small bag with maybe 2 pairs of Matter pants, a few light tops, and seeing where the road takes us..
One of our favourites is the sideswept Dhoti in the classic gradiente weave.. so neutral, it's easy to match with any top! The light colour is also perfect for the heat of the summer..
And as it's the sale season, Matter has some great pieces for tasty prices too! Other than their signature pants, these shorts are also a great option for traveling and especially for the heat..
All Matter wear come in this handy drawstring pouch, perfect to keep your pants when you are traveling or even use it as bag to fit in all your travel essentials!

A best seller in the Bloesem shop, this nifty little sponge packs a punch when it comes to cleansing our skin. You guys are familar with Not.A.Sponge* since we last introduced their 3 different sponges. Their konjac sponges also come in 2 different sizes, a round one for the face, a perfect fit in the palm of your hand and a rectangular larger one that's for the body.
We loved doing the styling for this shoot because of how much we enjoyed the previous styling assignment and also because we got to try working with a model that as you would know is something a little different on for Bloesem.. but we are always game to try new things and of course also work together with new companies! add it the list of resolutions.. to step out of the box and try as many new things as possible (take that with a pinch of salt, don't go off and try dangerous things).
We also used some props from the Bloesem shop.. like the gorgeous &Klevering tealight holders..

Like the name suggests, Not. A. Sponge* is actually so much more than a sponge. Made of the konjac vegetable, it is an all natural means to cleanse, wash and exfoliate your face and body. At first touch, it is firm but once water hits the surface, Not.A.Sponge* becomes so soft and gentle and glides on the surface of your skin without tugging or being too rough on your skin.
100% natural, Earth and skin friendly, it is also biodegradable as it is made fully out of the konjac vegetable. A great solution for those with sensitive skin, this natural product can be used as a substitute to your soaps and other cleansers.
The Bloesem Team has had the Not. A. Sponge* in the store for awhile so of course we were curious and had to try it for ourselves after the rave reviews our customers came back to us with. And the verdict is: We love it! Gentle and natural, Not.A.Sponge* feels good on the skin and gives us a clean finish without any added chemicals.

Not. A. Sponge* comes in 3 variations for the face (bun shaped) - In the Raw (white) , Volcanic Power Puff (red), Bamboo Charcoal (black) all with their own added benefits. It also comes in a larger rectangular shape for the body.

Home accessories like cushions can help bring a little sunshine into your home. Whether it's a cushion with a bright color or a pattern, all you have to do is find a style you enjoy. For us, we found these screen printed Bococo cushions.
The patterns are reminiscent traditional patterns and designs of textiles but with a contempary method such as screen printing, the cushion has a fresh look! They come in a variety of colors - the nudes and black and white ones are easy to match and neutral, while the bright colors like blue and yellow remind us that it's Summer time!
Bococo also has a range of handwoven cushions and tote bags with similar prints. All made with a similar high quality and attention to detail.
