Happy Chinese New Year!

How was your reunion dinner weekend? The Bloesem Team spent our Friday going on a little day trip around our vibrant city to soak in the Chinese New Year festivities and getting some shots for Condé Nast Traveler, as we're guest posting about this festive season in Singapore over on their Instagram at @cntraveler! 

We had a high start to our day with the Prosperity Toss, better known as Yee Sang or Lo Hei at the Imperial Treasure restaurant. As with all their other usual dishes, this was absolutely delicious! If you're in Singapore I'd definitely recommend giving Imperial Treasure a visit..  Personally, I think it serves the best Chinese cuisines here, hands down! We took a walk down the streets of Chinatown after. The bustling atmosphere is definitely not to be missed during this period.. The brightly coloured lanterns, intricate paper cuttings, endless variety of treats.. And of course, the people. You'll find both locals running their last minute errands here and the tourists looking to explore Chinatown. 

As we joined the crowd down the streets of Chinatown, the Bloesem Team explained the reasons behind the various practice we saw and also shared their own stories of celebrating Chinese New Year with me.. For instance, did you know that many of the popular festive dishes came about due to their names and what they represented? The glutinous rice cake, or Nian Gao in Chinese, can be directly translated to "year-high", signifying wishes for a great year ahead. How amazing! Always fascinating to learn about other cultures, isn't it?

Very happy to have the girls share with me what this holiday is all about. As we take a short break, I'm wishing them, and all those you celebrate a prosperous year ahead. Happy Chinese New Year!

A fulfilling 2015

Has it really been another year? Feels like we were just talking about 2014 not too long ago! Being closer to 2020 than we are to 2010.. Now that's a pretty strange thought to wrap my head around. But before we rush into the new year, the team took some time to look back on 2015.. While there were a lot on our hands, it has been a year of great joy and amazing experiences together with the Bloesem Team. We've had the opportunity to handle many fun and interesting projects from both new and longtime clients, and also some ventures of our own. We share with you here, our most memorable moments of 2015..

It's strange how none of them felt that long ago! Certainly make great memories.. And for that, and all that Bloesem was able to do this year, we have the people who have supported us to thank. Thanks for joining us on this wild ride.. And stay tuned, we have much in store for you in the coming year!

Merry Christmas

It's Christmas Eve?? How did that happen? The last thing I remember is my boys frolicking in the hot sun and water during summer break.. Time truly flies by you, eh? This year especially, it has been a really busy one for us with the growing company and a growing team to match, but we couldn't be more excited to be doing what we love.. And for that we have our amazing and supportive Bloesem readers to thank, who continue to inspire us to push out interesting and creative content. Thank you, for a smashing 2015! 

For now, it's time all of us (including you!) to take a little break and to spend some quality time with loved ones this long-awaited Christmas weekend. Happy Holidays from Bloesem to you!
