Bloesem living | Dutch design at Design Kwartier in The Hague: Vij5

If Vij5 sounds familiar, it's because we've wrote a post or 2 about the design duo on Bloesem. Walking around The Hague during Design Kwartier we somehow managed to walk right past Arjan van Raadshooven, half of the Vij5 duo, who very kindly showed us the way to where Vij5 had set up their little home they had set up and decorated in all their products, which was one of the stops along the Design Kwartier trail.

Designers themselves, Arjan and Anieke design most of the products in the collection, which consists of interior design pieces. They also work together with many young designers to broaden the collection. Most recently, the team's newspaper wood designs have peaked our interest.

With the endless possibilities for Newspaper wood, a new material invented by Mieke Meijer in collaboration with Vij5, the NewspaperWood company was set up. Turning newspapers back into wood in the form of a log and cutting them revealing the rings of a tree resembling the wood texture, genius. Then using the newspaper wood in a series of cabinets by Breg Hanssen. This shows the true beauty of team work don't you think?
