The best part about Bookhou's instagram is that it is a source of inspiration. For anyone that loves to create, Arounna, one half of the duo behind Canadian multi-disciplinary studio, Bookhou, let's us in join in the fun and the work that goes behind Bookhou. There's always beautiful nature shots, Arounna doing amazing watercoloring, some shibori dyeing gorgeousness and an occasional yummy treat! All of these make for a truly inspiring instagram feed.
If you didn't already know, or have just been inspired by Arounna, she will be here in Singapore teaching 2 Bloesem classes. Watercoloring and Shibori Dyeing classes will be going on throughout the week starting from the 25th of August. There are limited space left so grab your spot before it's too late! We could not be more impressed with Jurianne Matter's new collection. As one of our Bloesem class teachers, she spent some time in Singapore teaching us home and interior styling, these pictures just reinforce our belief that she is a pro! Everything in the collection is spot on and all with a story behind it.
We love how she designs her pieces based on memories and things she sees in her day-to-day life. The cups, she reminisces, were inspired by the times she warmed her hands with a warm cup of cocoa while watching dozens of seagulls fly in beautiful patterns. While the LookUP teatowel mimics the scene she saw looking up to the clear sky while walking through the woods, seeing the silhouettes of branches and berries. With each of her products having their own tale to tell, she reminds us to take a moment, step back and enjoy everything around us.
With the help of her friend Valerie Delsman, Jurianne's new collection got styled and photographed exactly the way we love to see it here at Bloesem ... I have to give a thousand compliments to this young talent and hopefully soon you will see more work from her appear on the Bloesem screen!

Shop Jurianne Matter's paper products here ... the new collection tea towels and ceramics will be presented at the ShowUP trade show in Amsterdam next week or in Paris at Maison & Objet one week later.
And hopefully in the beginning of October available at our Bloesem shop and other shops throughout Europe and the Netherlands.

I'm so proud! Coming back home to Singapore yesterday and seeing how Zara has launched her first collection S.A.L.U.
True eye-candy or beads-candy ... call it whatever you like…but you will like S.A.L.U….! The marble effect makes me want these necklaces very badly, but only a few are available so hurry up and chose your favourite…
I remember Zara showing me the polymore clay one day in the office and telling me about how much she enjoyed wearing those candy necklaces when she was a child…these necklaces look indeed to take a bite out of but you really shouldn’t as the beads while looking and feeling very soft are actually very robust and durable…
I'm sure we will see Zara exploring her crafty side a whole lot more during the years to come ... so stay tuned….Bloesem is already her biggest fan and says Salute ...
Marble softness is what I see when looking at the S.A.L.U. necklaces. I hope you will love them as much as I do and enjoy Zara's take on adult candy necklaces. All pieces are handcrafted by her and every necklace is unique. (sorry no.#1 is looking pretty on my neck)
