Class Alert: Rope Vessel Making with Gemma Patford
The things Gemma does with some rope and a bit of paint will astound you. We want to invite you to step into Gemma Patford's colorful world of handmade crafts and try your hands at creating beautiful crafts as well. Gemma, the self-professed first lady of the Macrame Bloodline, will be coming to teach 3-hour Bloesem Classes on Rope Vessel making on the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th of June. (You can find more details about class dates and times here.) Already huge fans of her rope creations through her instagram, we can't wait to host the classes!
The Melbourne-based maker is one of the artists responsible for the BIG comeback of crafts. Sharing her skills back home, this lovely lady also teaches classes along with collaborating on projects with other crafty individuals.
15 metres of cotton rope can help us store unattractive things very attractively, with a little help from Gemma Patford of course... She transforms rope into the most beautiful baskets. In this class Gemma will teach you how to create and decorate your own stylish rope clutter-catchers. We are going to learn how to sew and style your own unique rope masterpiece using paint, scrap fabric and embroidery.
If you prefer something more visual to entice you to join us the gorgeous pictures below should be plenty. They are evidence enough that 1) the woman is a crafting genius, 2) you think the baskets are amazing and what to sign up for the class with us.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and suitable for ages 16+. The price of the class covers 3 hours of learning and creating, delicious food and drinks. AND at the end of the workshop, you will wave goodbye with a rope basket made by Gemma and a sweet goodie bag so you can continue your rope creations at home!
