We previously wrote about the beautiful Story Tiles by Marga van Oers (also one of the best selling items in the Bloesem store) and most recently Marga has created Story Wood.
The creative fun stories are now on sustainable wood. We love the tiles but who doesnt love something new! The wood panels come in several different designs and sizes to fit any space in your home. The birch wood panels are 18 mm thick and are easily installed with an integrated hanging system. No fuss, no muss that's our motto. And of course all the pieces come with the Story Wood fire stamp and their own individual flame pattern.

Just recently found out about these super pretty cushions by Jennifer + Smith. Beautiful bold prints! Stunning colors like mandarin & blueberry combined with black & white.. definitely a cool statement on your sofa. This Sydney based brand has been designing since early 2012.. all cushions are screen-printed and sewn by hand. I'm a huge fan of their oversized cushions.. they'll do just great to snuggle up to with a nice cup of tea, don't you think? x Christine – House of C

When we first got our hands on these Deckle and Hide candles, we fell in love with the amazing scent it filled the studio with. (Everyone who entered told us it smelt like a spa!) Originally it was just for our smelling pleasure but then we realised even people from the other stores in the street wanted to get their hands on the candles so we decided to start selling them in the Bloesem shop too! We wanted to share the wondrous smells with everyone and so far the candles have been a hit.
Besides their lovely candles, Deckle and Hide also carries a range of locally (in Australia) hand crafted leather goods. Many of their products are made-to-order. (Saw a beautiful back pack they made specially for a customer on their instagram!)
Very much inspired by the natural concept behind Deckle and Hide's products, we went back to nature with this shoot! And Zara did an amazing job styling and photographing the Deckle and Hide collection. I'm so blessed to have her in my team!

Their leather goods are made from full grain, vegetable tanned bovine hide and kangaroo leather laced detailing for strength and durability. Then they are conditioned with natural oil and finished with beeswax. The leather develops its own unique, aged patina through use as they are not dyed.

Other than their stress-relieving scent, they are made from 100% natural ingredients! Anne and Luke first realised that burning many candles you see in stores could be detrimental to health because of all the toxic chemical in them so they decided they come up with their own line of 100% botanical candles that they would be able to enjoy without causing any harm to the little ones in the family.

Our second class since we launched Bloesem Class, let's recap Decorate Like a Pro with Jurianne Matter from The Netherlands! Jurianne is the paper jedi behind all the lovely paper flowers and ornaments that brighten up our studio. But this time instead of paper, she was teaching us the art of interior styling and home decoration.
Each student was asked to bring their favorite interior accessory to class. We loved all the different items we saw during the class. It really told us alot about each student and was also the key item that guided them while they learned how to construct their own moodboard. With her years of experience, Jurianne was able to guide everyone and read each moodboard to understand each individual. She helped her students sieve through the mountains of inspiration they found in all the magazines provided.
* We interrupt this post for an #OOTD: The beautiful Jurianne wears a dress by COS and necklace by Bloesem. *

Jurianne showed the class some moodboards and they had to guess the type of person that moodboard would fit. A great way to get an idea of what a moodboard should look like, and what kind of important details you most definitely should include in one so that it can be considered a good moodboard.
An important thing Jurianne said was that if you can read a moodboard properly then it is a well made moodboard. The point of a moodboard is about being able capture the essence of a space or a person (whatever you are making a moodboard for) using key visuals.

The final activity of the class, as seen in the images above, was a practice of interior styling. Students got up and were asked to place, shift or remove an item in the setting Jurianne had prepared. It was a fun little exercise that allowed the students to practised the skills they had just learnt from Jurianne. There is no right and wrong in this exercise and Jurianne helped with suggestions.
We haven't included any photos of the catering but we defintely fed our students some super yum lunch and treats by Make my day Zoet. You can have a look at the post we did about Maybelle's calligraphy class for an idea of the delicious goodness we enjoyed.
