...Sia's Wish Gifts: Sia Grafica

Sia_1_3
...for my blog friend: A wish gift for my blog friend emma laiho from Helsinki {whom I finally met this Summer} would be a limited edition print by Betsy Walton. Via Julie Knoblock 's blog I discovered that Betsy is selling her prints on etsy... My guess is that Emma wouldn't mind getting the Winter Indoors print or the  Rain Drop Bird print as a gift, either for her birthday or just because she's a great blog friend!
...for my best friend: My best friend is chanelva and we've known each other since we were eighteen. Although we don't see each other often, we try to keep in touch through e-mails and text messages. I haven't seen her since July so my wish gift for her is this cute tea pot by Lola Goldstein from Argentina... so we can have tea and catch up on everything... {Lola Goldstein also made some cute salt and pepper shakers - you can buy them at the MoMA store}
....for my friend: For my friend anne I wish a large screen printed purse with cute owls by Melbourne based Megan. I met Anne a couple of years ago while studying Media & Culture at the University of Amsterdam. Although I quit studying almost two years ago, we are still seeing each other and she has become one of my closest friends. This cute screen printed purse would make a great Sinterklaas gift...

...for my friend: a gift for my friend kiki who moved to London last December. Not many girls with a large tattoo {...on their back!} manage to look as classy as Kiki does - I must add that her tattoo is beautiful! Therefore I think that any dress from the Morticia collection {autumn 2007} by Swedish designer duo mori & mimosa would look stunning on her. I had the chance to meet Christina Wemming {a fashion designer} and Sara Engberg {a jewelry artist} in their shop/studio when I was in Stockholm... they are very friendly and obviously put a lot of love and effort in their work!
...for my mother: My mother will be celebrating her birthday on September 7th...  I love the Bono mugs by Catharina Kippel - I saw them in Stockholm a couple of weeks ago and instantly fell in love with the 'rainy print' mug. I'm sure these coffee mugs would make a great gift.
...for my boyfriend: My boyfriend floris  would get a subscription to the thing. It is an art project and every three months a new "issue" is sent out to all subscribers - a household object that has been created or edited by an artist, writer, musician or film maker. Issue #1, created by Miranda July just came out... it is quite an exciting project and I'm sure that Floris would be thrilled to receive 'the thing' four times a year, simply wrapped in brown paper with a string...

...Marieke's Wish Gifts: Treats&Treasures

Marieke_1

...for anybody: A gift that is perfect for anybody really is the Annotated Grimm. I bought it as a gift for myself and I just to browse through it in the evening, and enter the magical fairytale world. Great collection of illustrations too.
...for...: Last year I stumbled across one of the most charming shops in Paris, Le Petit Atelier de Paris. I bought a ceramic plate, a small vase and a porcelain leaf charm for a necklace. I am so very pleased with all three. They make excellent, precious and not so expensive gifts.
...for...: Though I love everything Sarah of The Small Object makes, the wooden needle case is especially cute and practicle too. I used to always lose needles between all the pins but not anymore.

...for...: Lomolitos are single use lomo cameras and are definitely on my wishlist but I think every (amateur) photographer (who isn’t one?) will have fun with these.
...for...: Some time ago the local supermarket in Holland gave away four leaf clover bulbs. I planted them and they just continue to make me happy. Even suitable for the person who has everything.
...for...: A mixtape, I had to put these on the list because they are my favorite wishgifts. Anything that is made/compiled especially for you got to be the best present you could get. At least for me! I have fond memories of the first mixtape I got, anxiously listening for special meaning and hidden messages. Ok, we’re no teenagers anymore but still. Illustrated ones are even better.

...Joy's Wish Gifts: OhJoy

...for family: Blurb book...turn your work into a coffee table-worthy book using your own photographs, words, and artwork. You can create cookbooks, document your travels, create an artist book, or show off your new baby's first year. Last holiday, my husband and I made weddings books for our parents using Blurb and they loved it. Prices are really affordable too. {images here from our Blurb wedding book}
...for friends:...small containers...i'm obsessed with small container, bowls, and cups. When I give jewelry or something that's small in size, it's the perfect opportunity to give them a unique little cup or bowl to house the gift. {You can find really great containers from bath collections like these from Anthropologie. I also love these log bowls from LoyalLoot.
...for the decorator: ...bird cages...i've always loved these bird cages from Horchow. They would be so pretty given to someone with a small plant inside {as shown} or a small piece of framed artwork.

...for the girl who has everything...: hair pins...these leather flower hairpins by Amy Rogers are so gorgeous and unique.
...for the eco chic girl on the go: ...reusable things...like a set of Envirosax bags for groceries and water bottles which hold hot and cold liquids and are great for every day use.
...for those who love to learn:...education...one of the greatest gifts one can give is feeding a passion or new hobby...for very special people, i love giving a class or set of classes for their new pursuit. whether it's cooking, art, pilates, or a wine and cheese class. This is obviously very specific to the location of the recipient, but I love unique classes like at Tria or the Fermentation School Flower Lab at Studio M Floral - both which are in Philadelphia where I live.

...Imelda's Wish Gifts: Imedagoze

First of all, thanks to Irene for inviting me to participate in this weekend read. Selecting a gift has never been easy for me, so having all 6 gifts listed here (within the given 2 weeks period) is quite an accomplishment for me.  Trust me, usually it takes me over a month to just look for one perfect gift!

Imelda_1

...for my mom: I’m not sure if I could use Oleana's picture here, but who could resist not having a piece of Oleana fine garments as a holiday gift. I know it’s rather pricy, but it’s the kind of price I’d only spent for my mom.   She will look lovely on this one in blue.
...for my brother: It’s quite easy to pick this one as a gift for my brother, who’s in the furniture manufacturing business, and loves to read (!). I had this book on my mind since I saw it on MoCo Loco few weeks ago.  Hopefully this book could give him some ideas in exploring other manufacturing techniques.
...for my daughter: At first we wanted to buy this Muji tricycle for our eldest daughter, Natassja, after her old tricycle broken down. But it doesn’t come in pink-purple color (as requested by Natassja), and it seems that she’ll outgrown this soon enough.  Since we love this tricycle so much, we’re now thinking of buying it for her sister, Tamara, instead. In Muji Singapore, it comes only in red or yellow though. I think yellow would be nice, too.

...for...: Sometimes I like to put some lcute little things along with gifts, depending on who the recipient is. *someone who like cutesy stuff, too, of course!* I found Polico brooches last week, but the ones I adore (bird, rabbit and bambi) were already sold out. And I couldn’t find them anywhere else, so I guess, I have no choice but to wait until the shop re-stock them.
...for my elder sister...: My elder sister adores my daughters so much, she loves to play and care for them whenever we’re in Jakarta, Indonesia. Both Natassja and Tamara adore their aunt, too.  So when I spotted the dress on my La Redoute french catalog couple days ago, I thought it’d be nice to get her that dress.  She can definitely pull the look.  And Natassja thinks so, too.
....for my friend: An old friend of mine has just moved into a new place not too long ago. We haven’t met each other again ever since she started working full time two years ago. It’s getting harder to see her now as she’s also taking part-time Master degree courses.  And she has two kids in tow, so I can imagine how hectic her weekend schedules would be. I wish I could see her and give this carpet decal for her new home before end of the year.

...Elisabeth's Wish Gifts: FineLittleDay

Elisabeth_1

...for my mother: I just adore Lena Corwins travel plates. They reminds me of the porcelain that my grandmother had when I was little. I would wish a travel plate for my daughter so I could borrow it!
...for my blog friends:
Mette makes lovely one of a kind clothes for kids of vintage fabrics.  If Kristina Karakovski or Emma ever have more kids I would wish these pants for them, I know they would love them.
...for my friend:
This lovely, inspiring book (called First Lines) by Elin Svensson,  I would wish for my friend Sara because I know she would appreciate it just as much as I would.

Elisabeth_2

...for my Cousin: This hand screen printed textile by my friend Anders Söderberg has such loveable pattern design, like a mix of Tove Jansson, Carl Johan de Geer and Marimekko. I would wish it for my cousin Moa, it would fit her apartment so well.
...for my son: For my son Otto I would wish that one of my favorite illustrators, talented Moa Hoff ,could come over to our place with some paint and brushes, and do a wall painting. Maybe Otto could assist her.
...for my friend: I would wish this three-color gocco screen print by Ah-yi for my friend Karolina Eriksson, who has the greatest taste. Ah-yi's prints has just beautiful and intersesting shapes, colors and compositions.

...Carina's Wish Gifts: NonchalantMom

Carina_1

When i have a special gift to get someone, and to be honest if i don't buy it from my own store..which is where i get most of my gifts, let's face it, if i love it its in my store! BUT there are those times when i don't have the proper item, say for instance for 'fathers day' sometimes a brio truck just will not do! so for these times this is where i shop:most favorite of all is tortoise in venice beach, ca! and sign up for their newsletter, it's the only one i get that i stop what i am doing and check it out! some of my favorite items in their store are the NY chair by Takeshi Nii.
...for myself I can't resist:...Kamiyama Zogan (inlay) Rings.
...as unique gifts for friends or hostess gifts: ...cast iron ornament and tekki paper weights.
...for kids:...i also really love to go to auto in nyc...i found auto one day when i got back from italy and i had terrible jet lag and would wake up at 6am and go for bike rides, one day i came upon auto (in the meatpacking before it WAS the meatpacking in nyc)  it's funny that we have some of the same clothing for kids...good people think alike!

...for...:one of the most inspiring websites to me is play mountain, they work together with chigo, who i sell in my store (i will have new things from them in october!! i can't wait!) but I love their cafe in japan, i have never been but it's a dream to me! it's a must visit just to inspire you to get the right gift!
...for myself:...i would get a necklace from margaret solow...i have them for kids in my store...but now i want one for myself!

...Amanda's Wish Gifts: Soulemama

Amanda_1_2

...for the little ones: My preference for giving is always handmade. But when I’m not able to make something myself, the next best thing is finding the work of other handmade artists. For the little ones who I’d love to share some handknits with, this beautiful Spirited Jacket made with organic wool by Just Jussi, would be at the top of my list.
...for all...: ...the nieces, nephews, and little friends on our list, these aluminum water bottles will be both a practical and fun gift. With a whimsical print by Japanese designer Shinzi Katoh, they’ll never want or need a plastic water bottle again.
...for my girlfriends: Oh, how I would love to gift a little something special to all my dearest girlfriends. Something delicate, one-of-a-kind and still just right for everyday use. Abigail Percy’s beautiful nature-inspired jewelry would be just right.

Amanda_2

...for new babies: For the new babies, I think a generous supply of Mother Goose Book Plates would be headed their way. Illustrated by the talented Susie Ghahremani, they’d make a wonderful way to mark the beginnings of a little one’s first library.
...for my man: Both unique and super practical, the man in my life will most definitely soon be getting a neoprene argyle ipod cover from mozi.com. It’s argyle!
...for every child: A big dream gift wish is that every child on my list would have a wooden play kitchen like this one from the Maine family company, Elves and Angels. Hours and years worth of natural, wholesome, creative play would ensue, and I would be very happy, indeed.

...Irene's Wish Gifts: Bloesem

Irene_2

...for my big sister Ellen: She taught me how to knit, she is a talented illustrator herself, but has not found the time yet to really explore her ‘crafty gift’. I would love to give her this beautiful pront by AshleyG, because it reminds me of us...she lives far away from me in the London area and I miss her dearly...
...for my mom: who should have been born in England I guess, she is crazy about tea sets and tableware and anything else that makes a table looks beautiful, she is always inviting people over, throwing fancy dinner parties and organizing high teas, so this amazing tea set by Jorine Oosterhoff might be the perfect gift for you! I love you!
...for my son Lode: who now is growing the same curly goldie locks I had when I was little…, this T-shirt by www.piriperuta.se/lummen.html, a great shirt for a little rebel…{you can buy this shirt here}

Irene_1

...for my husband: who is dreaming about designing his own house, this book should give him more than enough inspiration, it covers the Case Study House program conducted between 1945-1966, incredible designs of 36 prototype houses, all modern houses and affordable to build too!
...for my 3 nephews: in the UK and the Netherlands who I don’t get to see as often as I would like, these ceramic plates by Freckle designs were featured on Bloesem before, still among my favorite gifts!
...for my dear friend: Jacqueline, who will have her baby in October, she is a great woman, strong and courageous, and she and her husband really deserve some luck and baby love in their lifes!  Sjek, as I normally call her, is also a big tea lover…I found this tea gift box in a beautiful Japanese on-line store, which suppose to be very good for a women who just gave birth...

Thank you very much to my dear blogger friends: Amanda, Sia, Marieke, Joy, Elisabeth and Imelda!
