...by boat or foot... everyone find their way to the canal area... we are zipping wine in Miauw suites...
...boats are fully packed... no room to sit...only to stand... you have to be careful though with the low bridges crossing the canals... on all boats there is a designated person who shouts... every few minutes... "everyone duck now"...just in time...
...not sure what this is... looks like a submarine...
...and this is why I love the Queens Birthday so much ...browsing through all goodies in the flea market...
...antiques and other stuff...
...mobile snack and fast food unit...invaluable on a day like this...typical Dutch snacks like "kroket" are displayed in what we refer to as the "muur".... that is a wall of snacks...each snack is hidden behind a small window in separate compartments... you throw a euro in a slot and the compartment unlocks... the snack is released....eat all you can.. some people make a sport of eating all snacks placed "diagonally"....just writing about it makes me laugh... crazy snack tradition...but good fun...here you can find their website if you would like to rent them for a special occasion...
...the Queens Birthday is also very much about kids having fund and dressing up...
