Human Beauty

Bloesem Living | Bloesem Gazette vol. 2 Amsterdam City Guide: Featuring Human Beauty - Spa, store and beauty haven all in one

Featured in our Amsterdam city guide in the second edition of the Bloesem GazetteHuman Beauty is both a boutique and a salon and is descibed by it's founder, Jessica Wichers, as ' A complete beauty and wellbeing experience'. I know what you're thinking.. Sign me up for one of those please. Am I right?

The beautiful store sells everything from ceramics to skin care and it also houses the in-house salon where you can pamper yourself and get a facial or an eye treatment, just to name a few of the treatments they offer. Here's some more pictures so you can virtually visit the store. But remember to bookmark it and if ever you find yourself in Amsterdam, we hope you'll pop into this must-see spot.

At the Ocean

Bloesem Living | Read it! Luster series of design books: At the Ocean - a book full of beautiful ocean side interiors

We're glad to invite a series of Luster books to the collection of items curated within the Bloesem shop. We've known for awhile now that there was something missing in the store and that we wanted a larger collection of beautiful reading material in the store. Beginning with our magazine collection, we moved on to travel books and finally we welcome 5 beautiful interior design and food books to the reading nook!

One of the 5 books from the Luster series is At the Ocean. A collaboration between photographer Mirjam Bleeker and stylist and designer Frank Visser.

The book is filled with beautiful imagery of seaside abodes. Travel with them from Senegal to Japan and visit the homes of some interesting individuals. Take a much needed mental break with the gorgeous natural landscapes and colours that fill the pages of this book.

For more ocean side interior beauty read on..

More than a sponge

Bloesem Living | Not.A.Sponge - the all natural means to wash, cleanse and exfoliate your skin

Like the name suggests, Not. A. Sponge* is actually so much more than a sponge. Made of the konjac vegetable, it is an all natural means to cleanse, wash and exfoliate your face and body. At first touch, it is firm but once water hits the surface, Not.A.Sponge* becomes so soft and gentle and glides on the surface of your skin without tugging or being too rough on your skin.

100% natural, Earth and skin friendly, it is also biodegradable as it is made fully out of the konjac vegetable. A great solution for those with sensitive skin, this natural product can be used as a substitute to your soaps and other cleansers.

The Bloesem Team has had the Not. A. Sponge* in the store for awhile so of course we were curious and had to try it for ourselves after the rave reviews our customers came back to us with. And the verdict is: We love it! Gentle and natural, Not.A.Sponge* feels good on the skin and gives us a clean finish without any added chemicals.

many more pictures after the break...

A graphic stripe pattern all tangled up, disturbed and annoyed.. just love how she chose those names! :) Contemporary trend colors like soft grey, dusky green, bright yellow and black & white. Have a look at her pretty website.. i know you'll love it too! x Christine - House of C

The Tiny Roaster

Bloesem Living | Coffee shop stop: The Tiny Roaster by Zara S.

On wednesdays when I am not at Bloesem I try to spend some time exploring parts of Singapore I have not seen. One wednesday, a friend invited us to the The Tiny Roaster, a little cafe his sister had just opened. The loveliest little coffee studio it was to spend an afternoon in.  They offer artisan hand brews, as well as roasted coffee beans, for you to get your caffeine kick at home.

Located in Clementi, Singapore, it is tucked away between some of the blocks of houses but it is definitely worth visiting. Have a look at the photos yourself! You just know they put their heart and soul into everything, from the coffee to the decor. (I was told the beautiful door handle was made by the dad of the owner. ) Xo, Zara.
