Blush has got to be one of my favorite colors.. one of the most comforting colors.. doesn't that blush tone bedsheet just look so welcoming? A great compilation of pastels and interiors by Binti Home on pinterest, but the blush tones definitely stood out to..

Class Recap: Felt flowers with Rubyellen

Bloesem Class recap | Felt flower making with Rubyellen of Cakies Blog. Next Bloesem Class: Shibori Dyeing with Arounna of Bookhou

Over the past week, Bloesem played host to Rubyellen and Ben of Cakies. The sweet couple came all the way from LA so that Rubyellen could share her felt flower making expertise with some of our Bloesem class students!

We had a blast creating, chatting about everything from crafts to kids (Rubyellen and Ben have 4 adorable girls) and eating some delicious food. The photographs that follow will explain everything that happened during class.

Other than teaching, Rubyellen also explored our city with her husband and wow oh wow, we can't get enough of her instagram shots of Singapore! Seriously, she definitely sees Singapore in a much more beautiful light than we do. Singapore is beautiful but some of her shots made us double take and question whether we were living in the same place she was visiting. See for yourself! This is our favorite..

Class Alert: Shibori Dyeing with Indigo Class

Bloesem Class Alert | Shibori dyeing with Indigo by Arounna from Bookhou, in Singapore August 28,29,30 2014.

Class Alert: Shibori Dyeing class with Arounna from Bookhou

After countless students have told us that they have missed our classes, we are announcing our next Bloesem class almost a full two months ahead of time! We are pleased as punch to be having Arounna Khnounnoraj, half of the duo behind Bookhou, come from Canada to teach us the ways of Shibori dyeing. (Remember she will only be in town for a short while, this is not a class that will be repeated soon, so don't miss your chance!)

Many of you are already familiar with Arounna's work. Her bags, pouches and many other homewares and accesories under the label Bookhou are handmade beautifully and sell like hotcakes in the Bloesem store!

If you are drawn to patterns and fabrics, may we suggest adding some Shibori dying techniques to your skills with this new making class. Shibori is everywhere! It’s the new pattern for 2014 - 2015 and now you can learn how to make it too. We are already in love with this Japanese dyeing technique which dates back to the 8th century.

So spice up your wardrobe this season and learn how to make your own Shibori scarf and tote. Instead of throwing away that old plain top, maybe give it a make over with some Shibori!

Insta-nt Friends

Bloesem Living | B.Instagood with Melissasonico

We love how instagram is a community of friends, and making friends via this platform is so easy! It's great seeing a bunch of creative friends sharing their crafts and things they do during the day together, each with their own take on the moment. That's how instagram sucks away all your time, and also how I found Melissa's gorgeous feed - you find one amazing instagram account and somehow from their you are connected to that persons group of equally talented friends, and there goes 3 hours. On that note, get back to work! (after you are done reading this post :)
