Congratulations 101 Woonideeën

101 Woonideeën is celebrating it's 10 year anniversary...Congratulations! Actually, the history of 101 Woonideeën goes much further back...in September 1957 the first issue of DIY, a monthly magazine, was born. What I truly love about 101 Woonideeën is not only the fact that they have the best DIY tutorials they also were and are the first who truly reach(ed) out to the Bloggers community. For instance during this weeks Living Fair in Amsterdam 101 Woonideeën invited some of the most creative bloggers from the Netherlands to join them in their home (stand) to show their craftiness and let visitors be able to talk to the bloggers.

...and when I say great DIY tutorials I mean this tutorial for a stacking bench and other simple furniture. Marjan Verboeket from studio papas is the designer and creator of the tutorial, which you can find right here. and this is the link for the English translation.

 

Stella magazine looks stunning

Has anyone ordered a copy of this new magazine, called Stella, yet? ...it looks so nice...

Press for Bloesem

 

During my trip to the Netherlands I found out about two very nice press releases for Bloesem...yeahhh...first was a small mentioning in one of the best Dutch newspapers, nrc.next ... telling it's readers that reading Bloesem will bring you to nice houses and shops all ver the world :)

You might wonder why I am showing you the image above...well Jessica Nielsen was so kind to send me a copy of this issue and added some of her fantastic postcards, thanks! you can buy them here...

...and the second release was this great mentioning in the beautiful Dutch lifestyle magazine, ariadne at home. The lovely Maartje Mastboom...a great stylist herself did a nice write-up about finding inspiration online. Together with BlackEiffel, Design*sponge, FabulousFifi and more Bloesem got some nice apreasel...thank you Maartje!

Frankie and me in Singapore

The last two days I was in Singapore ... and I really enjoyed spending some quality time with my almost 4 year old son, who loved the flight, the hotel, the taxi's and excitement...I loved the small streets in china-town, the big shopping malls on Orchard Road but above all i loved reading Frankie, which I bought over at Books Actually (one of my favorite stops in Singapore) I don't think you can buy Frankie in KL, but I'm going to subscribe...

 

Frankie is such a beautifully curated with something inspiring on every page, the photography throughout the whole magazine is of very high qualtiy and truly a feast for the eye, of course I always like finding new online links the issue I bought (jan-feb 2010) even came with a very nice poster, 30 cats, illustrated by the talented Anke Weckmann, very nice collaboration indeed. Thank you Frankie from Australia for giving me some very nice down-time!

ps. you might have noticed some irregularities on Bloesem lately with fonts, lay-out etc....my apologies...but the good news is that hopefully in 2 weeks from now a new and fresh designed Bloesem will appear for you...working on it as we speak :)
