Haikje from Studio Haikje told me about Dorst… Eefje Dapperen and Geesje van Reijen are Dorst design… a Dutch design company with products ranging from furniture and textile to cuddly toys and small paintings… they have one thing in common… Dorst takes you back in time… they restyle second hand furniture, giving old pieces a modern twist while preserving the identity of the original design… no easy task, but they do a great job! The textile products and cuddly toys are also a fusion of past and modern influences… go back and forth in time on their website… (thanks again Haikje!)

Jurianne is the creative mind behind juriannematter. Her passion is to celebrate life with beautiful objects and this passion in clearly visible in her work. Jurianne specializes in these strings of paper party flags, a truly festive product which you can buy on-line. We had a wonderful time in our old hometown Amsterdam, and the shopping was great… it is funny to see that since I had my baby boy my shopping focus has shifted almost completely to baby fashion…and I spent quite some time (window) shopping for Lode. My absolute favorite children’s label is imps&elfs which you can buy in Amsterdam at KeetinHuis. The materials they use are of fantastic quality and have a soft touch. I also am a big fan of the softer and earthlike colors. Good news is that recently Twig started selling imps&elfs on-line!
