weekend with a cold

I'm in bed with a terrible cold ,yes these things also happen in warm countries ... and it's terrible timing because some of you know that we are moving house next week ... so today leaves me with finding some inspiration for the new house online and this is what I found yesterday :: a personalized ikea cabinet ... thanks Danielle for showing! Katie Lockart

In my previous post about Karen Walker Paints I mentioned Katie Lockart and of course I had to visit her website as well and their I found thse great images ... it's the first time for me to see a yellow floor and I  like it very much!

Katie's styling work is just sublime. I'm not sure whether she also does the photography herself, but anyway her website is really worth visiting.

Over at StorkbitesMan I saw some super nice bungalows ... well not real ones, but they could easily be modeling for our dreamhouse ... these house sculptures were made for Karen Walker paints from New by Gidon Bing (sculptor) and Katie Lockhart (stylist) ... at the website, you can also find some nice color charts ... here you can find the .pdf file with all the images.

Like I said we are planning to move to a new house, and the one we have laid our eyes on, has a huge garden which needs to be filled with plants and more plants ... and Bamboo is very high on my list, because I Love it, I can picture our new garden with these baskets and the lovely stools which I'm currently loving ... the images come from the TinekHome catelogue, a very inspirational book which you can read online for free right here ... thanks dear ada for this link.

Inspiration week on Bloesem

Did you all have a good egg-hunting weekend ... Rik and I skipped the eggs but went house-hunting, yes after almost 2 years living in this apartment it's time to move to an actual house ... which is pretty exciting for usm, because since we are together we have only lived in apartments ... I think we have find a home, but the lease contract is not final yet....so keep your fingers crossed for us ... because I'm totally in the mood for new interior inspiration I'm only going to show you inspirational images this week ... next week another fantastic geust will appear on Bloesem with her thoughts and ideas about nice things ... but let me start with these images about a post i did on B:Kids last week about Rie Elise Larsen, a productdesigner and stylist, these are some images from her house which I like very much, please read a little more right here...

Mieke Willems

Mieke Willems is a beautiful shop in Antwerp (Belgium)and owners Veronik Willems and Mieke Verbijlen truly have a talent for displaying the most wonderful items that are easily overlooked at. I have been a regular reader of their inspirational blog and hope to be able to visit their shop one day, perhaps they will open an online shop soon?

Some of the products Mieke Willems offers are found via ebay, vintage shops and flea markets and are given a new life ... like these birdpins, i really love the way they used them for an eastern tree! You can find many more images on their flickr site right here.

Via the Mieke Willems' blog I discovered by renilde, who makes these gorgeous pincushions, who unfortunatley doesn't have a website herself yet, but her pincushions and pillows will be available via Mieke Willems real soon, for information I suggegst sending Mieke an email. {ps. thanks katharina for sending me an email and reming me of Mieke Willems}
