Guest Post: A little bit of Sunshine

Bloesem1

This is Danielle  from The Style Files and I am guest blogging on Bloesem while Irene is going through a very sad time. Writing about interior related things might seem unimportant at times like this. But I know that Irene, like me, wants to spread beauty and positivity into the world with her blog. Which is why I have chosen to show you interiors with a splash of yellow, which is a happy and positive color. Life can be difficult and with this post I aim to bring a glimpse of sunshine to you all but especially to those who, like Irene, are going through tough times. Irene, I wish you and your family lots of strength dealing with this terrible loss. ~ Danielle

Monday Quick start: 'As Good As New' in SPRMRKT

Asgoodasnew-sprmrkt

Brand new second hand furniture... Four years ago, Gummo, i29 and Krimpex joined forces to create a new office for Gummo, furnished entirely with recycled and reclaimed furniture.
Being it a big success i29 now decided to make a range of brand new second hand furniture available for you ... This is as Good as New.

It’s made in exactly the same way as everything in the award-winning office – i29 finds old stuff they like... fix it... cover it with their special blend of solvent-free grey matter and then it’s As Good As New.

The collection can be seen until the end of the year in SPRMRKT in Amsterdam. A shop founded by my former boss lady Nelleke Strijkers who in her own words created a 'high-fashion universe' and the conceptual looking arty vintage furniture mixex perfect in SPRMRKT's style.                [MORE]

I Like You...

ILY

1. I am in love with the furniture shop called TRUCK, and thanks to their catalog I can actually imagine owning some of it. Everything is so gorgeously photographed, and it makes me wish I lived inside their studio.

2. Caroline Swift has a beautifully delicate way of creating items for your home. I am not sure any of her pieces should ever actually be used, but oh to decorate with them would be perfection.

3. Anna Larsson Design just opened her own online shop in May, and we can all rejoice! Now you can purchase her lovely posters (some limited editions), postcards, and kitchen towels whenever you like.

4. I am such a sucker for a shop like harrop & penny. There is just something about a beautifully photographed general shop that gives me goosebumps, and makes me happily envious. I don't think I'll ever get tired of sighing over every item.

Retractable table by Roel Vaessen

Roelveassen3

Dutch designer, Roel Vaesen ... (perhaps the name sounds familiar? Can be, I posted about Roel's latest project last week called ixxi... and gave you a tour of his own home) designed this fun artsy table ... actually it is a retractable table with perforated slats and embroidered with a nice pattern.

Would you like to know for whom he designed this table then click here and visit his website

Slowwood handmade in Fryslân

Slowwood_yellow

It's always a pleasure seeing a new project over at Studio Aandacht ... you know the design studio from the Netherlands who also helped design Bloesem's new logo :) ... lately Ben and his wife Tatjana have collaboratedwith (styling and photography) Christien Starkenburg and her amazing collection side-tables called the MUN collection

Slowwood_red

The tables are made by local craftsmen in Fryslan, a northern province from the Netherlands,  using solid wood, 100% natural finishes and mineral paint. And I have fallen in LOVE deeply... I wish I could afford buying the whole collection and use them everywhere in the house. The livingroom, kitchen, outside, kids playroom and my bedroom....yes they are multifunctional and fit in any decoration style!

Just some Furniture I like...

Rawdesign

Lately my husband and I are searching or should i say exploring ... no budget at the moment :) for some furnituter we would love to see in our new apartment in Singapore (please key arrive this week!) and the bookshelf Haarlem by RAW studios based in Pretoria South Africa is definetly added to our wish-list.

Scottrichandvictoria.com

And either one of these dining table chairs would fit really nicely with the Haarlem Bookshelf don't you think? Both are designed by  Scott, Rich & Victoria, an inter-disciplinary design partnership of New Zealanders Scott Fitzsimons and Richard Hartle, who began working together in London in late 2007.

Nadadorastudio

Cristina Alonso and Isaac Pineda are Nadadora. A Design Studio from Spain  and again I love the dinig-chair, which one the three in the images do you like best?
