Sponsor Spotlight: La Casita de Wendy

{1. pillow cover swans 2. MISAKO 3. cisnes big 4. apron dress 5. pillow cover ana 6. llama }

Meet Inés Aguilar and Iván Martínez the 2 amazing designers behind for "la casita de wendy". Their brand made an epic grow just in a short amount of time and is now one of the most popular brands in Europe and I can imagine why. Their designs do not scream haut couture but just the opposite... it available for everyone or as the designer duo would say it is designed for 'real people beyond all fashion trends' and that is in my opinion why they are the newest fashion icons in Europe!

They not only design clothes but they carry some amazing accessories in their collection check out this pillow cover named Ana its a drawing of a girl on a bicycle but what makes this black and white drawing so special is the mystical feeling you get while looking at it.

I also really  like is the crafter projects that ‘’la casita de wendy’’ has as a category in their shop. You will find the most fun but beautiful thing like the handmade dolls designed by MIMOKO for "la casita de wendy". The dolls are little ‘’cuteness-monsters’’ with a splash of sassiness. The vintage dresses they are wearing are made out of taffeta fabrics and their faces are embroidered on. There are 5 dolls with all same dresses but different pants ;)

So who needs Paris, Milan or New York when you can also shop until you drop at la casita de wendy

Bloesem Wears shop

As some of you may know, when I am not online I am usually busy making things and since a year or so I have had this passion for making jewelry (remember BKids Wear Neon)… experimenting with all sorts of designs I finally made a necklace for myself which received many lovely responses from friends and, most importantly perhaps, from my husband (who, actually, is supposed to buy me jewelry rather than letting me make my own)… so I thought why not make an entire collection for moms, daughters, tweens and their friends and present them to you… not that I had a lot of spare time to do this but I managed to squeeze in a couple of extra hours every day to craft what I think and hope you agree is a lovely collection of easy-to-wear affordable funky jewelry..

so Bloesem Brings Beads and Braids this summer…

All pieces come in very limited editions, carefully placed in beautiful gift boxes and are handmade by me, using materials that I love such as pearls, real silver, gold filled beads and some of my favorite gem stones…and last but certainly not least…genuine Italian cotton ribbons from Angela Liquori and… of course lots of thread!

Making jewelry is like yoga, at least to me, and I highly recommend you try it yourself…nothing is more rewarding than making something with your own hands, wear it and have people notice it as an unique piece… why don’t you give it a try and order the DIY kit that I prepared and includes all materials you need, except the tools.

 Now let me tell you about pearls… my own research (including again my husband…) tells me that  most men have this secret love affair with pearls and find women that wear them…, well, simply irresistible…. which sounds like a good thing to me… but personally I have never been a big fan of traditional pearl necklaces… giving our men the benefit of the doubt, I have tried to come up with a more contemporary and nonchalant version of the classic pearl necklace… I love how the pearls go together with the beautiful Italian loose weave ribbons from studio carta inc.

Do you ever Wear Pearls? Love to hear your thoughts!                                    ...... MORE

I Like You...Vegetable Set

What the what, Tattly did what? How much do I love this vegetable set by Julia Rothman over at Tattly? Only as much as this vegetarian loves vegetables...which is a lot! They are perfect for anyone that is a fan of vegetables, the gardener in your life, or just if you want to feel like summer all over. There are a lot of farmers where I live, and I am wondering if this will give me field cred if I sport them at my next visit to the seed shop...basically I can't wait to order mine! - Tiffany King

minä perhonen

From all the artists and designers I have written over the last couple of years I believe that the man behind the minä perhonen label is probably my absolute favorite of them all... wow how I LOVE everything this genius makes, designs and creates.

The new accesoiries line is delicate, inspiring and friendly and one of those trays really need to come and live in my house.

And how jealous was I when I found these beautiful images of his house by photographer Anne Dokter. She was lucky enough to visit him and his family. From the images it seems like he is such a likeable guy ... style and beauty all around!

{above images by Anne Dokter}

'minä perhonen is a fashion brand working to produce clothes which do not lose their allure through lapse of time.  The name of the brand originates in Finnish as the designer sympathized with the lifestyle and the culture of FINLAND; he has traveled many times through northern European countries. "minä" means "I" and "perhonen" is "butterfly," with a wish to make many beautiful designs like those of butterflies' wings. The brand logo signifies "various characters (dots) within oneself (rectangle shape)." Just like the species of butterflies are countless, the designs too continue to increase.'

Monday's quick start: La Casita de Wendy

Let's start this new week with spring-summer collection from La Casita de Wendy from Madrid.

Inés Aguilar and Iván Martínez are the designers and creators behind this beautiful brand... in just a short time, "la casita de wendy" has become very popular in Europe with notably Björk who chose some of their outfits for cover spreads for the English magazine "Wire" and French rock magazine "les Inrockuptibles",…

I always love visiting their blog too and have a look behind the scenes of their crafty meetings ...

Your Collection is Dreamy

Filly Designs Spring 2012 Collection is country romance, is it not? The clothing is loose, but fitted - the colors are vintage, but fade perfectly into the rural backdrop. I adore it! Being a country girl myself, I wouldn't mind having an afternoon like this - leaning in to smell the flowers gracefully while staring off into the distance as my mildly dishevled hair blows ever so softly...see what I mean? Let's go there.

Another collection that is making me sigh with envy is Arts and Science Spring 2012 Collection. I seriously want to live inside it, and picnic beneath willow trees. I want to ride a horse through the English countryside, and tend my acre garden outside my stone farm. Honestly, if I could own that jacket and every single pair of those shoes - I'd settle for waving to traffic at a bus stop.

Both of these lines curate thoughts of a simpler life but with a hint of romance, and that is something I love and truly appreciate. - Tiffany King
