Interview with Holly Becker about her new book 'Workshop'

Holly Becker from Decor8 blog did it again with her new book 'Decorate Workshop'. I really enjoy how Holly writes both on her fabulous blog as in her books. If you missed out on our review on her first book 'Decorate', you can read it again here.

What makes 'Decorate Workshop' different from her first title... well ... lot's more interaction with us the readers. Yes, Holly makes it easy via a 'one step at the time' guide througout the book helping you to start decorating or renovating your own space. It's almost like she's there with you, telling you what you should be doing next. 

She stresses this out in the book... "Write in it!". Scribble ideas, doodle designs, anything you think that will help you with your decorating. Holly believes writing it down in the book will make it more helpful to you and we believe she is absolutely right.     [CONTINUE READING]

Not a card not a book but a perfect message to send

Such a great idea instead of sending a card to someone send one of these cute little recipe books from Publisher Snor. They are small in size, but big in meaning.

When Hadewijch Ceulemans from Luster Publisher emailed me with a question whether I was interested learning more about thsi book I responded imedeatly.. yes of course the cover already is so inviting ... I am honest with you I haven't seen the actual book myself yet but from the images and pdf I can only say that this must be a must-have for every interior design lover.     ......MORE

Vis & Veg ... a cool cookbook from NL

What do you think, you like these pictures? I made them :) ... with my new nikon camera. Last week it was my Birthday and this was my birthday gift... took me a long time to figure out which camera I wanted to buy, but decided for the Nikon D7000, because it has film function too. Of course I am not a proffesional and not aiming to be one, but I do like the fact that i can bring you some images of my own more often. STarting with this new cookbook from the wonderful ladies of Uitgeverij Snor, a previous post about them right here. 

The book is called Vis&Veg ... meaning Fish&Vegetables. The graphic design of this book is just excellent... a real eye-catcher. The recipes look very nice, but to be honest i can't give you a good oopinion about them as I am not the cook in this home and probably never will be... I just like looking at cookbooks.

Some Books for the weekend...

Instead of a 'some things I liked this week...' post I would like to share some books that are laying next to me on my desk ... waiting for me to read and browse through them... all I can give you know are some snap-shots I made of the books and share my first impressions with you...  

 The first book is “The Perfectly Imperfect Home” by founding editor in chief of (former) domino magazine Deborah Needleman and illustrated by Virginia Johnson. And all the  'illustrations' througout the book make the book so special and different from me from all the 'photo'-books. It leaves a lot to the imagination ... and if you weren't a fan of Virginia Johnson's work yet  I'm sure you will be after having seen this book.

Photo memories perfectly captured

A lovely lady from the Netherlands send me this lovely small photo almbum that is strong enough to stand as a frame too... I like things like this, not your usual photo-frame but a handmade booklet that perfectly fits two images of my sons... perhaps you notice or see that the inside is a map of Malaysia were baby Kiet was born and we are still living.
