Object Rotterdam

Already any plans for this weekend? My Asian friends probably celebrate Chinese New Year, I will be having a quite weekend, but if I would be in the Netherlands right now I would go to Rotterdam and visit OBJECT Rotterdam.

Thé fair for contemporary design showing the latest limited editions and one-offs from well-known and upcoming designers working in different design disciplines and various materials.

Stylist and art director Tatjana Quax will be giving a presentation on Sunday afternoon about upcoming art projects in the Netherlands and she will talking about her own work for studio aandacht and studio attenzione.                    [MORE IMAGES]

Design expo about The Eating Person

Marjon and Sandra visited the DesignHuis in Eindhoven a little while ago where the exhibition 'De Etende Mens' or 'The eating Person' is currently showing. The exhibition is curated by well-known food designer Marije Vogelzang and organised by Premsala.

The Eating Person is about exploring the link between people, design, food and the origins of what we eat - with topics ranging from global farming systems to the potential of laboratory-grown meat. You will find the work from international designers, photojournalists and artists including Marti Guixe, Peter Menzel, and Koen van Mechelen. 

If you are in the Netherlands this exhibition is definitely worth going to and you still have some time ... open until 13 January 2013.

I have fallen deeply for these Utilitarian ceramic Vessels by B.Fiess... a little bit more about this American native on his about page ... 

some places online where you can pre-oreder the vessels; Leif ; iko iko ; ship&shape ; .. I still haven't decided which color combination I like best. But just looking at the page gives me so much color inspiration. Would love to hear what you think about them?

'Make Believe' by uusi

I am kind of looking for new prints in our house and the new "Make-Believe' collection by Uusi is certainly part of my possible list to buy... not sure yet which one I like best... perhaps 'the Goose that laid the Golden Egg' ... which one would you choose?
