How about starting this week with some really nice art pieces by Lisa Golightly aka Kiki&Polly. These are called her Painterly Portraits and each painting is based on a submitted photo, done in acrylic on canvas and mounted to a beautiful bamboo panel...if you would like to submit your photo just click here to read all the information...talking about a really nice Christmas Gift :)
And I love these two prints form Lisa's etsy shop. So affordable and again beautiful presents for the upcoming Holiday Season. If you would like to visit Lisa's beautiful blog, please click here ...
I was just writing over at B:Kids that my baby boy is sick ... they call it Bronchiolitis ... so please understand not so much text this week, but I will show some really nice images and gift ideas here on Bloesem.
The whole week I have been planning to show the work by Jane Foster ... I'm in a 'retro' vintage mood this week (will tell you why next week :) ... and she perfectly fits in. Her work is so cheerful, bright, graphically fantastic and what a treat this morning to visit her blog to see that she was showing images of her 'of course' gorgeous home....yummie yummie...i'm enjoying this! Jane lives in Brighton and has a studio at home where she sews, designs and screen prints. And yes like she says herself she is strongly influenced by Scandinavian design. Particularly design from the 50's and 60's! Her website can be found here and her wonderful products and creations are available via her bigcartel shop! Right timing isn't it just before Christmas! I have added this print to my Christmas Wish-list and this one...
'eddy and edwina' is one of those shops online where you can find unique, arty, different and funky things all handmade by Karin Kramer from Germany ...she calls herself a jewellery designer, and she is :), but I also love her artwork like this print above...currently Karin is doing a giveaway and promotion via her own blog for her products, just click here ...
An email from Serge yesterday really caught me eye ... he is the brain-kid behind Envelop ... an online print-on-demand platform where illustrators can create, promote and sell there own designed cotton items, like pillow-covers, napkins, bags, oven gloves and aprons ... all you have to do is download the product templates of textile items in order to customize them...submit your design and after being approved as a contributing designer you can start selling your items at Envelop ... for me as a buyer it's a fantastic place to buy one-of-a-kind and uniqye designer pieces!
I was very happy when I saw an email from Valentin Löllmann in my inbox ... Valentin is a young designer who just graduated at the Academy of fine Arts in Maastricht with his graduation project "past memories" ... and I think it is just gorgeous! Past Memories ... Grown together out of old, forgotten pieces of furniture, this collection was guided by their original forms and memories to something new that keeps its character and uniqueness and hides it at the same time. The range includes a chair, table, chest of drawers and bench...would you like to see and read more, please visit Valentin's website right here ...
{(in)visíveis . (in)visible I digital prints from Ana Ventura} it was very difficult for me to decide with what post I would sign off for my blog-sabbatical ... but I think doing this with Ana Ventura is very appropriate for me ... when I started blogging I never expected that Bloesem would become such a very important part of my (and my husbands) life ... it was Bloesem who introduced us to so many talented people around the globe which I'm sure we would otherwise never been able to find ... Bloesem has enriched our lives in multiple ways, new online friends, new ideas, a new way of thinking about many things and most certainly Bloesem has filled our house with many beautiful items that I bought myself along the way or were given to me by beautiful people often as a thank you for giving them a humble platform online ...
My husband and I are off to a new start in a 'real' house, no more apartments for this couple, instead a garden and an upstairs! During the coming weeks I will of course once in a while show you some images of our decoration adventures and progress ... one thing is for sure the amazing art pieces which we bought from Ana Ventura the other day are getting a prominent spot in our home ... (you can see all the prints right here)
Leaves me with saying how grateful I am to all of you my dear readers, thank you for your comments, support and emails. A big thank you to my sponsors who made Bloesem possible for me ... and all my blogriends, who linked to Bloesem and helped my readership to grow ... I'm going to miss you, but I will soon be back in the beginning of August!! ...and once in a while a small post because I just can't resist it...
This is not the typical embroiderie work but amazing art pieces embroidered by my dear friend Arounna from Bookhou ... Arounna made them especially for a exhibition at design store and gallery Rare Device in San Francisco which started last Friday and if you are in the SF area please go and visit ... the exhibition is called Attachment Series ... here you can read a little bit more about the Attachement series, I'm not sure wheter they will be for sale as well, hope so! {ps. thank you Arounna for the you know what I mean!!}
