Pirates Bay house in Melbourne by Earl Carter

Like I said yesterday I am doing some small re-decoration in our Amsterdam apartment and this house certainly inspires me ... absolutely lOve the bright green above in combination with the wood. It feels so fresh and clean.

I found this amazing home via babyramen and the house is located on the other side of the world ... Melbourne, Australia. Photographer Earl Carter made some great pics and I believe that houses like these are the reason for my love for interior design and architecture so much... not a standard home but an unique home. Not sure if I will ever have the guts to live in such a place ... it probably too mono-tome for me, but I truly enjoy looking at the pictures and admire people who make this planet more interesting with house like these.

Our Amsterdam place

Good morning lovely readers I hope you have missed me the last couple of weeks ... I certainly missed you and am super happy to be able to post this morning. I have had a wonderful vacation in Spain with my family and am enjoying some quality time in the Netherlands right now with my friends.

Luckily for me I can stay in our own Amsterdam apartment which normally is rented out but tenants moved back to their home country and I am currently doing a huge re-decoration/renovation so new tenants can move in after the summer.

Great to empty out many boxes that were stored about ten years ago when we left this place. I found this huge pile of old wallpapers (1998 - 2003) and was happily surprised with the still sublime-looking covers. I believe back then wallpaper was a bit more trendsetting and new then nowadays but I admire them for being around for such a long time on high-quality level.

I think I am going to keep them ... still very inspirational.

Foekje Fleur

It's about time that I write about Dutch designer Foekje Fleur once more here on Bloesem. She has so many new wonderful designs since I saw her amazing porcelain plates for the first time. When I saw how young this designer is, born in 1988, i first felt very old :) but more importantly am curious to see what this talent is going to bring in the long future ahead of her...

Above a series of bottles in porcelain using molds from wasted plastic bottle that were found in Dutch river the Maas ... I think the colors are so beautiful. You can buy them online in her shop.

and these probably are the nicest Christmas ornaments I have seen in a long time... unfortunately sold out, but perhaps we might convince her selling them again this year.
