Art in Your Home :: Barb Blair
Barb Blair from Knack Studios.
A: Art means to me...Life is art to me. Everything around me speaks to some form of art whether it is a child's finger painting, collage work by a favorite local artist, jewelry, furniture, flowers, street signs, clothing, or food.....inspiration and color is around at all times.
R: Reading books, blogs, or magazines...I don't have much time for reading unfortunately....and because I am one of those "once I pick up a book I can't put it down " people ....it can be dangerous! Everything around me could be on fire and I would not know it since I am so engrossed in my reading! However, I am trying to read through the Hunger Games series since my kids are reading them right now. My favorite magazine splurge every month is Living etc.and I pour through every single page....on multiple occasions. There are some really great online mags that I love too like Sweet Paul, Kinfolk, Anthology, and Pure Green. As far as blogs go....when I have the luxury of blog surfing there are so many that I love to peruse especially in the home design field, but I find myself keeping up with different bloggers through their facebook pages and posts, and really love having real interactions with people.
T: Trends I see in art or graphic design are...There is a major geometric crush going on in the graphics arena right now and I really love it!
A: Artists I admire are...children......their artwork is so pure... and I admire the simplicity and beauty in it all.
N: Never will I...eat a mushroom. :}
D: Dreams for my own work are...to see it continue to grow organically and always be original and fresh.
R: Relaxing I do at/when/if...I love to relax at home with my family and we are notorious for making lots of popcorn and indulging in movies and frivolity of all sorts.
I: Interesting art focused websites I like are...The Old Try is a recent love of mine. A really cute southern couple making great southern inspired art and prints.
N: New in my home is...a little 4 lb puppy named "Roo." She is delicious.
T: Tomorrow I would like to go to...Ireland.......but seriously I could handle a trip to the flea market and creating in the studio.
S: Studio, my studio is...Rad. I love the light, the space, and the furniture goodies inside.....it is such a privilege to be able to create there.

Tina, the wall color in the first picture is called Forde Abbey by Ralph Lauren....it is a beautiful gray that I used both in my den at home and my studio where the blue chair shot was taken. :}
