Vis & Veg ... a cool cookbook from NL
What do you think, you like these pictures? I made them :) ... with my new nikon camera. Last week it was my Birthday and this was my birthday gift... took me a long time to figure out which camera I wanted to buy, but decided for the Nikon D7000, because it has film function too. Of course I am not a proffesional and not aiming to be one, but I do like the fact that i can bring you some images of my own more often. STarting with this new cookbook from the wonderful ladies of Uitgeverij Snor, a previous post about them right here.
The book is called Vis&Veg ... meaning Fish&Vegetables. The graphic design of this book is just excellent... a real eye-catcher. The recipes look very nice, but to be honest i can't give you a good oopinion about them as I am not the cook in this home and probably never will be... I just like looking at cookbooks.
And here you can find the book in my own house, on the new kitchen shelves from IKEA....
(All images by me: Irene Hoofs)

The photos look great!
I am a long time Nikon user. A friend once told me their digital cameras used to have a problem with light levels on auto setting - but they may have fixed it.
I would recommend using the camera on the 'M' setting where possible and even using old Nikon manual lenses as they will fit on the front and can be bought cheaply these days! We use a standard Nikon 50mm and a 105mm (macro) for much of our product photography.
For video, you will need a tripod and/or an improvised steadicam to get smooth shots - there is a wealth of resources out there for DSLR film.

(not being very original here but:) your pictures look really nice, and filled with *light*!
I'm longing for this light... All my pictures these days seem to have this gloomy and dark look. Winter, that's why...
+ How did you feel when you took your first picture?
I will sound ridiculous, but when i got my own new (and beloved) Nikon two years ago, i felt *intimadated*! As if i was about to go on stage or something, haha... And i sometimes still do feel i'm not really up to my camera... (if this is how you say it in english...? not sure)!
*HAVE FUN*!
