Monday's Quick Start : Lisa Congdon's Studio Tour...

b>tags | ..blogs | ..QuickStart

Lisa

I am going to start this week with a studio tour showing Lisa Congdon's atelier beautifully photographed by Victoria right here.... the honest, pure and inviting feel of the post really appealed to me and made me realised that I never actually wrote about Lisa Congdon or her work before on Bloesem...  I have never met this creative artist in my life, but her appearance on many other blogs, twitter and elsewhere makes me feel as if I know her :) ... funny right? You can find Lisa’s work here on her blogwebsite, and etsy shop.

The funny thing is that only later I discovered Fiep Westendorp's illustrations on the background on Lisa's inspiration board .... made me love this women even more. Fiep is one of the most influential and famous illustrators of the Netherlands ... more about her here, a little write-up I did for Bloesem a couple of years back.

Sinterklaas en Zwarte Piet... you see them too ?

ps. Thanks Victoria for your marvelous (re-styled) blog… gives me tons of inspiration and enthusiasm in keep on doing what I am doing!

You've got the talent. I'm impressed.

The illustration of Sinterklaas definitely reminds me of my childhood. What a beautiful studio.

O, by the way, I recently run into the books by Annette Tamarkin and posted some photos of her books. She made some really pretty pop-up kind of books. You might like them too.

O my, I love Fiep! An easy guess for the Dutch readers, as my blogname 'wijeisenijs' is a quote from her book about Floddertje. I have used that name as an internet alter ego so many times. I have planned to do a post on her for a long time, but I want to do it good which usually means I never get it done because time is so scarce. Anyway, glad to see you made a post bout her and Dick Bruna ages ago. I might make a link to that one, if you don't mind?
My 6 months old son loves the Miffy books by Dick Bruna.

Lately a bought a beautiful book with children poetry, all beautiful illustrated, I am working on a blog post about that one right now.

Grappig ik zag ze ook & voelde me ineens heel trots op Fiep!
