We're doing things a bit different today with this particular Art in Your Home post. We've decided to go inside the home of shop owner Julie Heger. She's the creator and owner of the lovely Maison Deco, and has graciously invited us into her home.
A: Art means to me…art for me brings more life into your home and everyday. Art to me is also being able to mix art, modern design and ancient items to give your home more personality. I also love
R: Reading books, blogs or magazines...reading books is pure relaxing to me, I get a lot of inspiration from reading blogs and magazines - especially for home decoration. I just started reading “Nomad: From Islam to America” by Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
T: Trends I see in art or graphic design are…actually I do not follow trends in art – I just like it or not.
A: Artists I admire are...Ursula Munch-Petersen a Danish ceramist. Her production includes both sculptural shaped unique pieces as well as mass-produced objects and I love the functional and visual qualities of her products. Among others she has produced the porcelain series “Ursula” in co-operation with Royal Copenhagen. I have quite a few of her objects myself – both some of her unique items as well as some of the mass-produced ones.
N: Never will I...go alone to the cinema
D: Dreams for my own work are about...to succeed with my newly started webshop
P: Projects I'm currently working on are...launching my webshop in the Benelux countries
R: Relaxing I do at/when/if...our summerhouse at the coast in Nieuwport and when I read books. I also find it very relaxing to go for a walk in the beautiful nature.
I: Interesting art focused websites...I do not really know art focused websites but I love the Picasso museum in Antibes and the Salvador Dali museum at Place de Tertre in Paris.
N: New in my home is...a red wall clock in my kitchen – I simply love it – it is simple and brings color into my home
T: Tomorrow I would like to go to...tomorrow I have to go to the second hand clothing shop to sell some of the clothes taking too much space in my closet and that I never wear.
S: Studio, my studio is…my small office in my private home that works great even though I do not have a lot of space – but I have decorated it practically and there is a lot of light from the window.
Thank you Julie for opening your home to us, and we wish you much success with your new business!

I can't believe Amy Malcolm actually makes these super gorgeous bags from her home studio... WOW... I am soo impressed. This is absolute craftmanship. Coming from a father who knows a thing or two about leather I can only be utterly impressed! Amy is the founder and only staffmember of Opelle Creative.
Not only do these leather handbags look stylish and very modern they also look very beautifully made and if you are the kind of person who just like me prefers handmade above the retail labels then this is the bag for you. Read and See More >>>
Here a nice interview with Amy on the Etsy blog to read a bit more about her and how Amy enjoys living in Toronto.

A lovely lady from the Netherlands send me this lovely small photo almbum that is strong enough to stand as a frame too... I like things like this, not your usual photo-frame but a handmade booklet that perfectly fits two images of my sons... perhaps you notice or see that the inside is a map of Malaysia were baby Kiet was born and we are still living.
At 1000 en 1 boeken (=1000 and 1 books) you can order any city from Europe or country from around the world to capture your travel memories. I think this makes a perfect gift for anyone. Paula Derksen is the founder and maker of 1000 and 1 books and she is more than happy to answer any question you have about customised books.
Next week we will launch the first categories of the Bloesem Gift Guide 2011... just like last year we will try and find the best, unique, original and fun items available on the web, to make it easy for you to do your Christmas Shopping.
We have still 5 sponsor places available... they are very affordable only USD 50.- this is your chance to promote your own shop online.
Please drop me an email if you are interested! Thanks Irene
**guest post by Marie Maglaque is the designer behind handbags & accessories label Etincelle Studio.
Charcoal looks like the perfect color at the moment... Temperatures are dropping in the north hemisphere, and here in South East Asia we are dealing with the monsoon = daily showers and chilling weather! I have compiled for you today a couple of desirable objects... my favorite being the lamp and the wall art. How about you?

A Swedish lady living in Melbourne, Australia, who's actual name really is 'Swiden' designs the most beautiful Scandinavian style kitchen and home accessories. Inspired by her upbringing at the southern shores of Sweden, Charlotte just needs to add objects from nature in al her illustrations... and in her own words just like many other Swedes: Charlotte loves order, structure, white space and
more white space.... and I like this too :-)
You can go shopping for her product right here and next week Charlotte will be our guest again for an Art in Your Home feature... more images form her great home.
