Art in Your Home :: Mirthe Blussé
Art in the home of Mirthe Blussé
A: Art means to me...doing what I love most.
R: Reading books, blogs and magazines...means inspiration. If you ever see someone in a café secretly ripping pages out of a magazine with a pokerface it is probably me..
T: Trends I see in design are...- a growing use of illustration (...but I may be a little biassed here)
A: Artists I admire are.. Hannah Höch, Michel Quarez, Savignac, Steinberg, African sign makers, Hendrik Werkman.
N: Never will I say... never.
D: Dreams for my own work are about... editorial illustrations, children’s books, cookbooks, bookcovers, posters.. And I hope to do some more styling projects..
P: Projects I’m currently working on are...editorial illustrators and –finally- setting up my webshop.
R: Relaxing I do... outside in the sun. Preferably in the outdoor swimmingpool nearby.
I: Interesting art places online are... salon01; wooster collective; grainedit; the selby.
N: New in my home is...a wooden play horse, one of my treasures of the Queen’s Day fleamarket.
T: Tomorrow I like to go to... play with my niece and nephew: the ultimate way to relax and exhaust myself at the same time.
S: Studio, my studio is...my playground.
Mirthe Blussé is an illustrator and graphic designer, who lives and works in Amsterdam. She favors craftsmanship and handmade design. The Ice-cream above comes from her series Good Food that I really love and hope one day she will open her online shop to sell some of these. Mirthe also has a personal blog sharing her latest work... many many nice things you will like!
