Let's Get Personal in London with Liz Wells
DesignHome Dicky Bird unRaveled :: answers by Liz Wells
B:: British is...eclectic. We’re a nation of collectors and love things from far away places.
R:: room, my favorite room in our home is...our house is very small, so I don’t have a lot of choice! We have one open space downstairs which is light and bright – that’s where it all happens...
I:: ideas come from...all over. I try to take my little Ricoh camera with me when I go out and about, so I can snap anything of interest that I see.
T:: time to make...anything! Knitting, sewing, drawing, baking, cooking – making something yourself is really rewarding.
I:: indulgence, my secret indulgence is...reading a book when I should be doing the housework. Like everyone else it seems, I’m into Swedish crime novels at the moment.
S:: style means...elegance, but looking like you haven’t really tried.H:: home is...the place you feel best.
H:: hobby, I always make time for...taking photographs. It’s nice to look back a couple of years later and think ‘oh yeah, that was a lovely place...’M:: magazines I love to read are... lately, The Gentlewoman - very stylish. Also Monocle – both are a good mixture of interesting people and nice things to look at.
O:: outfit, my favorite thing to wear is...jeans I’m afraid, they’re so useful! On the flipside, anything with spots or stripes.
E:: enjoy, I can't live without...tea and biscuits (I’m into ‘NICE’ ones at the moment)
.................Thank You Liz..............

I came across some photos of your home when googling for Span, and always wanted to see more. Especially like the use of Vitsoe (Span and Vitsoe together, died gone to heaven

Wow, thanks for your lovely comments and questions. Re: the floor - it's panels of marine ply from a local timber merchants. The wooden dolls were designed by Alexander Girard and are now made by Vitra. Thanks to Irene for having me and to Fanja for hooking us up - it really is fun to share! Lx

Love the flooring!!!!! What kind of floor is this and where can I buy it?
Also like the bold colours used here & there to fresh up white/grey furniture.
Is it cupboards under the windows to hide clutter?? Super- idea!

I really love the brightly-colored wooden dolls. The one of the couple would me a very kitchy wedding present. Do you know where these come from?

Swedish crimenovels are just pageturners and perfect for a summer afternoon in the shadow! Stieg Larsson - what a shame he is no longer with us!
Love your blog!

Oooh that Braun T1000 by Dieter Rams. Love those wooden characters as well - but can't recall who designed them... An adorable space!

I like the clean lines, the hues and textures used in the designs of these rooms. Seems like a wonderfully, cozy place to live in. Accessorised just right. The colors are just playfully warm and comforting.
