my husband writes...
Irene asked me to write a few lines today as a (one time only) guestblogger... my name is Rik and Irene is my wife... and although I write for a living (I am a lawyer)... writing a post is quite different... so you will have to forgive me... why couldn't Irene write today? There are a few reasons... today is a public holiday in Malaysia... Deepavali...or festival of lights... but most importantly she has been very busy getting the house ready for our families who will be visiting during November and December... inevitably this meant moving around all furniture...heavy lifting of some of our contemporary collectibles... we both share a passion for the 50's/60's era...but still looking to find an original Stag design...
{Vintage chest of drawers by John and Sylvia Reid for Stag}
Already a few months ago I was reading about Stag in Elle Decoration
UK... a Nottingham based company... manufacturing the designs of John
and Sylvia Reid..Sylvia Reid worked for Robin Day... see anyhing familiar
in these designs? John & Sylvia designed some great pieces... but are hard to
come by it seems (particularly in KL as you might imagine...), I especially
like this teak veneer cabinet...
More pieces that are high on our wishlist are these classic pieces by Robin Day for Hille...simple and sleek... truly great design...
And I'm sure these fabrics would Irene make very very happy ... beautiful classics...fabrics by Lucienne Day...collectors' items for sure...

Hi Rik! Great post and very lovely items! I think I need to get my hands on some of that fabric for sure! Your wife is a gem!
