Kris from color stripes is an artist and fashion designer with a passion for home design... she is a big fan of the design team Seyhan Ozdemir and Sefer Caglar ... together they are Autoban...the interior and product design frim based in Istanbul... Kris especially admires their capacity to bring together Oriental and Scandinavian aesthetics, minimal and baroque, artisan craftsmanship and industrial elements... she feels that this is what makes Autoban an icon in contemporary design connecting different worlds and cultures...
Autoban is inspired by nature, daily life, childhood memories, influenced by European and Asian history as well as its Ottoman past...Autoban objects and projects are emotional...whether product or interior design... Autoban creates stories...every single detail that makes up that product or interior is a part of that story...
Image above, clockwise from top left: electric cable for light bulb and outside table at The House Cafe-Tunel,peek into couple’s apartment...i love floors made using large hexagone plates of plywood in natural color, exept one red in dining room and one yellow in the bedroom....all designs are from Autoban.

All the pieces are so lively and fun!
I like the idea of using different colors for the kitchen chairs.
Everything reminds me of United colors of Beneton!
Thanks for sharing this!

My friend used to work for them. You should see the cafe/restaurants and boutique designs they make. They are much better than their houses, they pretty much use the same materials/objects but somehow create a very strong and different atmosphere for each location, without losing the autoban style. They are one of the very rare stylish Turkish design firms, along with Derin and Nurus.
