I think most of you are aware of the many talents Lena Corwin and Maria Vettese have...but they always know to come up with an even better idea, project or design than the last time...for one year they have been working together on LINES & SHAPES...which started as an idea to get artists together in a collaborative effort toward something and this something resulted in a series of small books...starting with six volumes this first year...each volume will have a different visual theme and a different group of artists will be featured...artists featured in the first volume are: jennifer causey, lena corwin, karen gelardi, caitlin mociun, christopher ryan and maria vettese...you can subscribe right here...or buy the first issue click here...Congratulations to Lena and Mav!
Already 25 February... heading towards March... can't believe time goes by so quickly...hope you had a great weekend...these are "heat transfers" on maple wood panels by Otsutree... founded by Theresa, who describes herself a passionate graphic artist... and believes that “graphic design is everywhere, touching everything we do, everything we see, everything we buy.”.... hmmmm I like that belief... a great way to desrcibe the influence of graphic design on our lives.... check out Theresa's website to see more of her interesting work...see you tomorrow...finishing a project today...
Ending this week with the incredible new work by Gesine Hackenberg…is just fabulous! You probably have seen her 'spoon' series before in blogland or at Rose and Radish. This time Gesine is bringing us a jewelry collection… can you believe it is made out of “Delfts Blauw” or other china….necklaces, brooches and earrings “stamped” out of tableware… I am sure this is not the correct description of the technique….but it is all gorgeous! On her website you can read an interesting story what inspires and motivates Gesine to make these pieces of art.
Just wanted to let you know that I have added a new feature today on B:Kids...“Knock, Knock, Who’s There” …an opportunity to meet interesting and talented women who will tell us about their businesses, homes and family lives…giving insights on how to run and start a business...their struggles and breakthroughs and adventures…and of course why they’re doing what they’re doing… I hope you enjoy reading my first “Knock, Knock” about Esther Schuivens from Esthex… and there will more interesting women to meet on B:Kids in the near future…!
