Frida Mälarborn

A while ago I wrote a slide-show about coming Scandanavian designers on the former House&Garden website...unfortunately their website is no longer up and running, therefore I thought let me show you the beautiful work by Frida Malerborn on Bloesem. Frida is a recent (2006) design graduate from HDK [Design School Göteborg]. Unfortunately Frida's website is only in Swedish, so I couldn’t understand a word she is writing… but her images already tell many things about Frida… so many exciting designs… I am sure she is a lovely person.

I did find some information on the HDK website about Frida… According to HDK “she has always been fascinated by handicraft, possibly more by the actual process than the end result”. And… “she thinks that the actual aim of handicraft has changed over the years”… “where it once was a refuge from the daily grind, nowadays handicraft acts partly as a form of therapy against stress”… I can relate to that… Frida’s fascination for textile expression resulted in the ‘Tillbords’ collection. For Frida it is important that in creating her various objects the actual experience of handicraft is translated into the physical form. The result: stunning tools for decoration. You can send Frida an email for information about availability and pricing.

Just gorgeous. I wish more readily available.

I love the new technology that opens up the world of photography to ceramics artists. Hers are particularly creative. How does one keep from eating off them?

These are very lovely. Such a clever design idea.

simple and elegant, I love it

The effect of creating is a subject I love to think about - it's effect on the creator and those who appreciate the creativity after. I loved how Jesse from Jezzeblog mentioned the term "knitterly", when talking about the feeling you should have when knitting.
Blogging has certainly opened up a whole new world of appreciating Creativity
