Forest Series

A couple of years ago Johannes Gille became the proud owner of a very old Austrian farmers chair. Jos Kranen understood his love and admiration for this chair and together they decided to transform the characteristics of that particular style into a modern-time-object…the Forest Chair…they called it. The back of the chair is made out of four aluminum plates and they used a laser to cut out an Austrian landscape.
After the Forest chair the couple also created a beautiful table, some cutlery and plates, the Forest Series. I love these folklore inspired objects! Johannes and Jos are already working on new chairs with landscapes from Coney Island in NY or the Ruhrgebiet in Germany. I can’t wait to see them.
I just received an email from Jos telling me that the new chairs with the landscapes from Coney Island, Ruhrgebiet or NY are already available, here you can see them all...For pricing or more information just send Jos or Johannes an email.

Hey these are beautiful - I love the contrast between the wooden seat & the metal back which pictures a woodland scene!

Beautiful chair, I really like the way he has mixed materials and added softness as well as strictness into the design.
