While reading one of my favourite magazines, wallpaper, I came accross a very interesting Scandinavian design couple. Johannes Carlström and Magdalena Nilsson from Sweden are the founders of Save Our Souls. Influenced by some catastrophes in the world like the tsunami, bombings, clash of cultures and I believe environmental issues their first collection in 2005 was in their own words: dark, beautiful and ambitious! Spill is the name of the table… an unpleasent but seductive pool of oil spreads over fragile ecological systems…And the black lamps are called Drops…a black heavy drop of oil hangs above us and spreads light and darkness. The Drops lamps are truly stunning -- in fact, stunning is the word I'd use to describe your entire blog -- I could sit here and look at it and find things to drool over all day, IF I didn't have a half-finished painting of a girl that would love it if I came back to give her some lips and a right hand waiting on me. ;)
