You probably have noticed my love for ceramics. I truly appreciate a well-designed vase, bowl or cup. Creating something new out of clay instead of copying something must be really fun for the designer. But Dutch Designer Bas van Beek looks at this differently. He considers it art, to reproduce. In his own words: Copying the designs forms the ultimate compliment to a designer….hmmm…what do you think? Here you can read a detailed explanation why Bas thinks copying is a form of art!

I know some people think designs that are copied is the ultimate compliment to the designer, but if I had my work copied by others I wouldn't be so happy. I prefer unique items designed by the individual designer.
