Free-lance illustrator Jesse Breytenbach from South Africa currently spends most of her days working on a graphic novel, due out next year. It will be a collection of short stories and the theme is women and food. I’m very much looking forward to it. In the meantime Jesse loves to crochet and knit toys, which she sells at the Neighborhoods Market together with Heather from SkinnyLaminx and at a children's bookshop in Cape Town called 'A is for Apple'. The toys are knitted by hand, and pretty much designed during the process. Jesse wrote me that she will expand her knitting designs when winter is coming to SA. Mittens, socks and hats, as well children's t-shirts that she knits sleeves and collars on to. I think the crochet brooches are wonderful!
And if this isn’t enough Jesse also features two illustrated stories on her blog every day. Jesse will soon open her Etsy shop. If you have any questions or would like to order something just send Jesse an email.
